Some cats have completely different purrsonalities when other hoomans are around. A lot of cats are nervous around hoomans and people invading their space (we say "their space" because they are the kings and queens of their houses, obviously). So when non-cat people come over to your house, they often see a cold, indifferent cat that is more shy and scared than the one you know at home. But we know how they really are. When it's just you and them, how snuggly they can be, and best of all, how pawsitively quirky they really are.

Maybe your cat sneaks into the fridge to eat the butter straight from the stick, or you find your fluffy feline sleeping in your sink (somehow purrfectly comfy), or you know your cat's exact spot to make them go bananas and meow like crazy. Honestly, we wouldn't believe you if you said your cat wasn't quirky because we believe that all cats are actually adorable little weirdos at heart.

But then, we want you to ask the same of yourself - why do you love when your cat is authentically themselves, but you hide the quirky parts of your purrsonality because you're afraid of what others might think? If you think your awwdorable cat who must smell every spoon you take out is cute, why can't you accept that your quirks will be cute to someone else as well? Maybe not everyone will like them, but you don't get everyone to like you anyway. Take a picture from your cat's playbook and just be purrfectly you. Your cat (and your soul) will thank you later.

Do you think that if someone drew this very unflattering picture of you, you would get offended? This cat doesn't look offended by the fact that someone drew it more akin to a seal than the purrfect example of elegance and grace that they are. Cats don't yearn for others' approval, and neither should you.

Fur example, we love anime. We've liked watching it since we were kids. However, we watched it in secret for the longest time because we thought people would judge us for it, just like these two cats “hiding” behind the curtain. Eventually, we accepted that it was something we loved, and we found other people who love it as well. And our lives are much better as a result.
